Activity description
Get a head start on the basics of freediving with this two-day course on Cape Town’s beautiful V&A Waterfront.
Want to get your feet wet before really taking a dive? This PADI Basic Freediver course is right for you. Develop freediving skills by learning the basic principles and breath holding techniques in a pool. There is no pressure to jump right into an open water freedive. Here, you can take your time to expand your knowledge and practice at your own pace. Courses have a maximum of four students for a more personalized feel.
Day 1: Meet your instructor at the V&A Waterfront to complete paperwork and review theory. You will learn to use a mask, snorkel and fins, a wetsuit, and freedive specific weight belt. Now you head to the pool to go over special breath holding techniques to maximize your time safely under the water as well as good swimming habits.
Day 2: You will continue your breath holding techniques in the pool and learn important relaxation techniques.
