Snowmobile through the dark Winter landscapes and chase the Aurora Borealis in the Finnish Lapland outside Rovaniemi!
Driving through the dark and snowy backcountry is already an awesome experience in itself, but when the sky is clear, it can be even more bewildering with the stellar spectacles above. Witnessing the bright, star-studded Arctic sky, its glowing moon, or even the mystical Northern Lights from the pitch-black wilderness of Finnish Lapland is truly an unbeatable sight.
One of the best times to spot the Auroras is said to be in the evening before midnight so this safari begins at 8 PM. After making your way to Rovaniemi, our guide will provide you with thermal overalls, a balaclava, a pair of boots and some gloves. After a safety briefing on how to drive the snowmobile, you will then be off, driving through the dark winter night. Hunting for the aurora is always an exciting excursion, regardless of the outcome. If you are lucky, you will get to see the Northern Lights dancing ahead. Don't worry if you don't, however - we promise you a fun night with hot drinks and snacks no matter what.
The snowmobiles we offer are locally produced BRP Lynx Rave, Xtrim, and Boondocker models. These models are not only extremely comfortable to drive but are gentle to the environment as they are practically smoke and smell-free. Children will be seated in a comfy sled pulled by our guide, so they are safe and cosy throughout the excursion.

Winter gear included: thermal overall, boots, woollen socks, balaclavas and gloves or mittens. Your own jacket and shoes remain at the safari house during the tour.
Special terms
The driver option accounts for one single person on a snowmobile.
Driver + passenger accounts for 2 people on a snowmobile.
Children travel in a sledge pulled by the guide’s snowmobile. In case a child prefers to travel as a passenger of a snowmobile, he/she must be tall enough to reach the handles and treads and strong enough to hold on tight.
When a child travels on the snowmobile and not in a sledge pulled by a snowmobile, adult price (Driver + passenger) applies.
This activity only operates with a minimum of 2 participants. You can book it individually, however, if no other guests are already booked or will book on that tour, it might have to be rescheduled or canceled.
