Location
This tour is organized and operated from Rovaniemi on the outskirts of the Finnish Taiga. Part of the Lapland area of the Arctic Circle, this Boreal Forest is the world’s biggest wilderness - stretching east in an unbroken belt from Norway to Newfoundland.

Meet your guide in Rovaniemi for this full-day/half-day snow-mobile safari in the Taiga Snow Forest. Suited to groups of friends and families, this activity is ideal for total beginners and snow experts alike. Explore the area’s distinctive coniferous tree line on this scenic snowmobile tour – following footprints in the snow to mystical new horizons. A scenic route into the very heart of this immense woodland, learn how to drive out of the saddle – weaving through the dense forest to reach a wilderness cottage where a traditional hot lunch will be waiting. Keep warm by the campfire as you sip on local grog – suiting up for the second part of the tour to a frozen lake and riding up high to appreciate the landscape from a new altitude. Following your guide back into town, your transport will be waiting to take you back to your accommodation.
Conditions
Operating during the Arctic winter season from November to April, this activity is suitable for anyone with a full, valid driving license. Children are welcome to join but will be taken by sled on a separate snowmobile for safety reasons. Please dress appropriately as temperatures can reach lows of -30°c.
