Taghazout was originally a small fishing village, today it is still maintains an authentic Moroccan ambiance, rich in culture and traditions.

In recent years it has become renowned as the surfing capital of Morocco. Located about 17 km from Agadir, Taghazout is home to several world-class surf spots.

The area gets 330 days of sunshine per year, which becomes apparent when you look at the environment. You are actually on the edge of the Sahara Desert!

Morocco is famous for its long right hand point breaks; thoroughly consistent and generally un-crowded. The waves at Taghazout go on and on, and you’re certain to find a suitable wave, whether you’re a beginner or advanced surfer.

The best season for waves is between September to April, especially for advanced level surfers. The area is exposed to similar weather conditions than that of mainland Europe. However, here you have the added bonus of the warm Moroccan waters from the Atlantic that, reach temperatures of up to 21 degrees. The surfing conditions of the rest of the year are great for beginners and intermediate level surfers.

You’ll be spoilt for choice when it comes to white powder sand beaches. The largest and popular are, Tamawanza: 12 km, Imouran: 17 km, Taghazout beach: 19 km, Bouyirdn: 21 km, Timzguida allal: 22 km, Imiouadar: 27 km and Aghroud: 30 km.
