Belle-Île-en-Mer: What to do when you get there?

Belle-Île is a French island off the coast of Brittany, only 14 kilometres from Quiberon.

It is located in the Morbihan department and is exposed to a particularly pleasant climate with approximately 2,000 sunshine hours every year. It also has a relatively low rainfall compared to the rest of the continent, attracting holidaymakers from all over.

This spot is ideal for city dwellers looking to escape the humdrum of routine. The spectacular views of Belle-Île alone can help you forget the typical tedious city life. Whilst out trekking it is common to come across isolated creeks and dramatic cliffs that can reach an impressive height of 70 metres!

The combination of lush vegetation and striking rock walls make Belle-Île an excellent spot for extreme water sports. Let off some steam by practicing surfing, bodyboarding, bodysurfing and scuba diving.

Air sports fans can take to the open air and skydive throughout August to enjoy spectacular bird’s eye views.

Once you’ve had a taste of Belle-Île you’re guaranteed to come back again and again to enjoy its peaceful ambience and preserved nature!
