If you are looking for a truly authentic local experience, ice fishing is the ideal option. With a world of snow-covered forests and lakes, Rovaniemi is a perfect destination for fishing aficionados.
You will hike through the Arctic woodland to get to your fishing spot. If the snow is deep enough, put on your snowshoes and walk like an arctic explorer. When you arrive at the lake, your expert guide will assist you in drilling through thick ice. While you wait for a fish, take in the view.
After some time has passed, it's time to go on your barbecue degustation. Gather around a snow-covered campfire to sample Lappish specilities. If you're lucky enough to catch a fish, enjoy grilling it yourself.
