Activity description

Come experience a combination of an overnight stay at the aurora camp and a dog sledding adventure the next day.

As soon as you arrive at the camp you will get equipped with thermal overalls and booths for you to stay warm and relax while waiting for the incredible natural spectacle of the northern light. You will then enjoy the dog yard, where you will be able to meet and cuddle the 200 Alaskan Huskies.

After this full of emotions dinner will be served in Gamme-hut. You can try Bacalao, a traditional Norwegian fish dish made from locally sourced cod (vegetarian alternative can be available on request).

The rest of the evening you will be free to spend it outside around the bonfire. As you will be away from the city lights of Tromsø, the sky overhead is dark and perfectly suited for Aurora watching. When you get tired, you can head to our Lavvu-tent that you will share with the other guests. It’s furnished with soft reindeer skins and high-quality camping gear. Wrap yourself in a warm sleeping bag and enjoy the northern night.

The next day, after a fulfilling breakfast, you will be taken on a dog sledding adventure. Back to the camp, you will be served a hot lunch of Bidos (Sami reindeer stew), to bring back all your strength before saying goodbye to the dogs.

This will conclude an amazing experience and create great memories.

Awesome, it was a great experience, staying overnight in the camp, the dog sliding, perfect organized by a great team

This was truly a once in a lifetime experience. We arrived to the camp and got to play with the dogs immediately. The staff was so friendly in welcoming us ands showing us to our lavuu. Once we dropped our belongings off we were given our suits and show to the dog area. After a few hours of seeing the dogs we were shown to the dinner hut and fed fish soup which was perfect after being outside in the cold. Mid dinner we were interrupted by the staff alerting us that the Aurora was out. Staying in the lavuu we had full access to the dogs and the fire pits all night. The next morning we were given an excellent breakfast before getting our suits on to go dog sledding. This whole experience was phenomenal and was finished off with a reindeer stew. I can not recommend this whole experience enough! It was truly amazing.

The night camp was amazing. We had time to spend with the dogs but definitely not enough time on the sledges!

The people are really special; they love what they do and they love the dogs. Spending the night in the lavuu was a blast. Seeing the dogs was amazing: they are so smart and beautiful and so, so affectionate. It was a great activity.
