Activity description
Discover the Cirque d'Endieu by via corda to take height on the peninsula of Casteljau and the Chassezac in the south of Ardèche!
Located on the cliffs along the Chassezac, the via corda of the Cirque d'Endieu is a course of about 1h30 that will leave you breathless with the superb landscapes it offers. After having followed a small steep path for about ten minutes, you will rope up to start your vertiginous walk along the vire (small stratum naturally sculpted by erosion), at 40 meters above the Chassezac river. You will have a privileged and incredible view of the Chassezac Gorges and the Païolive wood!
The via corda is the perfect activity to discover new sensations and to reach some of the most beautiful viewpoints of Ardèche. So if you are in the vicinity of Berrias-et-Casteljau, or even Vallon-Pont-d'Arc, don't hesitate to go to the Cirque d'Endieu to discover its via corda!
Meet at 9am or 2pm, directly on the parking lot of the Belambra vacation village of Casteljau to meet the instructor. You will start with a 10 minutes walk, followed by technical explanations. Then, you will go down a small steep path for another 10 minutes to reach the half of the cliff and rope up.
During about 1h30, you will walk on the cliff side and have a majestic and contemplative view on the Gorges of Chassezac. The end of the walk offers a giant abseiling of 40 meters to go back down to the beach, followed by a 15 minutes climb on a steep path. At one point, there will be no more ledge: a cable has been pulled there and you just have to walk on it. At another point, there will be no more ledge, and you will have to hang yourself to cross the obstacle.
End of the activity around 12 or 5 pm.
