Travel across truly amazing landscapes on this authentic dog sledding tour in Swedish Lapland. Led by a pack of trained huskies, cut through the ice and snow on your way to a rustic cabin hidden deep in the Arctic Taiga - enjoying a traditional lunch in the heart of a winter wilderness.

Location
This tour is run & operated from Kauppinen on the outskirts of Kiruna. You can fly from Stockholm to Kiruna in 90 minutes. Every day all year round there are usually 2-3 direct flights from Arlanda. Return transfers within a 20km radius of the activity base are included.

Activity
Meet your guide at the activity base for this dog sledding experience in Swedish Lapland. A chance to sample authentic arctic living, choose to sit back in the sled or take the reigns, driving your own pack of lively huskies! A bucket list experience for children and big kids alike, each sled can carry up to 4 passengers - making it perfect for small groups and families. Start by meeting the dogs and getting them ready for the adventure - learning a few commands before you set off into the arctic Taiga. Pulled through the snow by 12 powerful Alaskan Huskies, travel along wild yet well-maintained tracks in the wilderness - crossing frozen rivers and lakes to reach a rustic cabin deep in the woods. Here, you'll have a chance to warm up with a traditional Swedish feast - spending time with your pack and enjoying your snowy surroundings on foot. Chasing the sunset, travel back through the forest to the activity base where you can have a last cuddle with the dogs before your return transport will take you back to your accommodation.

Conditions
Operating during the winter season from December - March, this tour is suitable for all ages and abilities. Please note this activity operates with a two-person minimum per tour - max 4 people per sled.

Wir waren zu viert unterwegs, die Landschaft und die Hunde waren atemberaubend, das Wetter hat mitgespielt, Sonne mit -16 Grad. Diese Aktivität bleibt im Herzen, so persönlich und individuell. Die Informationen sind vielschichtig und es ist deutlich zu erkennen, dass es eine Leidenschaft ist und nicht nur Business.

Wir wurden von unserem Hotel (ICE Hotel) sogar persönlich abgeholt und mit zusätzlicher Kleidung gegen Kälte ausgestattet. Danach wurden die Schlitten vorbereitet, man durfte die Hunde kennenlernen, sie streicheln und wäremen. Nach einer Tour durch die wunderschöne Natur gab es in einer Hütte ein leckeres Essen und Tee. Zudem durfte man viele Fragen stellen. Danach sind wir die Strecke wieder zurückgefahren

15km with the huskies (alakan and siberian). Food and service from the host was good too. Learned a lot about the dogs. Also each person got his own team of dogs and we can feel that they are close.

War sehr toll. Der Pro hatte ein grosses Wissen über Hunde, Hundeschlittenfahren, Schweden und Kiruna. Die Hunde waren motiviert und der Pro gab eine gute Instruktion. Die Route war traumhaft und abwechslungsreich. Das Essen war sehr lecker.

I never actually thought I would find myself steering my own sled in a perfectly white landscape. It was something that I didn't know was on my bucket list but I'm glad to have done it.
