Moorea is one of the smallest islands in French Polynesia - and also one of the most beautiful. Located 17km north on Papeete it’s easily accessible from mainland Tahiti, which houses the nearest international airport. The most popular spots for visitors to the island are Cook and Opunohu Bays in the North. There is also a world-famous lagoon with clear waters that reveal rich coral reefs.
Activity
Meet your captain and guide, who will give you a safety brief and rundown of the day ahead. In groups of 2-5 people, you will head out to Ōpūnohu Bay, passing through the light blue hues that make up the ocean's colours. Stopping at the shallow lagoons you can stand in crystal clear waters, analysing the baby stingrays that use the area to grow before venturing out into the Pacific Ocean. You can also expect to get up close to sea turtles and coral reefs filled with vibrant and colourful tropical fish. You will then head towards Cook's Bay offering a glimpse into Moorean history. Once you have swum the warm waters and observed the lush volcanic peaks that surround the island, you will stop for some traditional fruit cocktails and drinks for the perfect end to a day in paradise!
